Clinical Nurse Educator- ICU, Tele, and Observation

Primary City/State: Osborn Medical Center – Category: Educator – Shift: Day – Department: Professional Nursing Education – Full‑time, days/hours vary. This position supports ICU and Telemetry (Tempe Medical Center) and Med/Surg & Observation units (Osborn Medical Center). Key Responsibilities Provide clinical and nursing professional expertise as an educator, leader, consultant, facilitator, change agent and researcher to support quality patient care. Apply evidence‑based practices and research focused on the knowledge and skills required for assigned areas including quality improvement, safety, regulation/accreditation, and outcomes evaluation. Collaborate with leadership and staff on patient‑care and staff performance issues, help set standards, and maintain knowledge and skills in the assigned area(s). Advance and lead educational practices based on the HonorHealth Nursing Professional Practice Model and the Association of Nursing Professional Development's scope and standards. Coach, mentor and role‑model staff; conduct continuing‑education needs assessments and develop, conduct, and evaluate mandatory and elective educational programs. Teach formal and informal courses, new‑hire orientation, clinical academies, residency, mentor and preceptor programs. Consult on program development, clinical practice, and professional development; support quality measures, safety initiatives and performance‑improvement activities. Research and implement innovative educational strategies, including virtual, simulation and emerging technology; collaborate with IT and LMS administrators. Maintain educational documentation and records in accordance with standards and organizational policies. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Enrollment in an MSN or MEd program within 30 days of hire and completion within 24 months of hire; or a Master’s in Education or Nursing. Post‑Masters Certificate in Nursing Education preferred. Registered Nurse (RN) license (state and/or compact). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP instructor level certification if applicable. Certified RN‑Cardiovascular I required. AMCC approved nursing specialty or professional development certification preferred; if not, to be achieved within 12 months. Minimum of 3 years of direct patient‑care RN experience. Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience in the area of assignment (e.g., ED, critical care, Med‑Surg, OB).
