About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Advancement to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key leader in shaping strategic fundraising decisions and will have administrative oversight of major gifts, planned giving, and corporate and foundation fundraising. This role requires a proven track record in closing major and principal gifts, maintaining a rigorous moves management process, and a high level of activity. The VP will be responsible for leading a team, setting and achieving ambitious fundraising goals, and ensuring that all fundraising efforts are aligned with the institution's priorities and campaign goals. Candidates for the Vice President for Advancement position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and 8-10+ years of progressive fundraising experience in a complex nonprofit setting. Essential skills include major gift mastery, strategic fundraising, comprehensive advancement knowledge, and advanced communication. The role also demands strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to engage diverse donor communities with cultural competence. The VP will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to the values of the institution, including humanism, and to foster a culture of innovation, courage, and passion. Responsibilities include staff management, volunteer recruitment, and ensuring compliance with ethical standards and relevant regulations.
