Senior Specialist, Procurement

Merck seeks a Senior Specialist in Procurement to lead direct materials sourcing strategies for small and large molecules, including bioconjugates and antibody drug conjugates. The role involves supplier management, cost modeling, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support pipeline development and commercial manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and manage procurement data for strategic sourcing initiatives across small and large molecules
- Conduct market intelligence, supplier analyses, and cost modeling to inform sourcing strategies
- Execute RFIs, RFPs, and procurement processes; support supplier selection for pipeline and commercial products
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Legal, Finance, and external suppliers on supply chain initiatives
- Assess supply risks, develop mitigation plans, and support new product introduction playbooks
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain, or Procurement
- Minimum 2+ years pharmaceutical industry procurement or sourcing experience
- Advanced data collection, analytics, and reporting capabilities
- Excellent project management and negotiation skills
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder influence abilities
- Ability to conduct market and supplier analyses with independence and adaptability
