Benefit Fair Representative - Seasonal/Part-Time - San Luis Obispo, CA Area

Job Summary Under little supervision, Benefit Fair Representatives educate employees and encourage membership enrollment at VSP Vision Care client benefit fairs. Representatives travel to VSP client locations or participate virtually during open enrollment to explain VSP plans, answer questions, and help members determine the best options. Responsibilities Travel to client locations (or virtually) during open enrollment to explain VSP plans and benefits. Engage with potential and existing VSP members—both in groups and one‑on‑one—to explain the need for annual eye exams, available plan options, and the value of VSP as a benefits provider. Provide plan information and respond to member questions. Refer members to Customer Service for issues that cannot be answered on‑site. Coordinate with Vision Care Marketing and Sales to confirm fair/plan details and ensure materials arrive on time. Present the VSP benefit to groups as required. Collaborate with Vision Care Sales on presentation details and expectations. Submit fair details and feedback electronically after each event. Assist with the collection and facilitation of information or data requested by VSP. Maintain inventory of materials needed to represent VSP at fairs. Qualifications Insurance industry or human resources experience preferred. Previous customer service, HR/benefits, or health insurance experience preferred. Professional, friendly conduct with excellent organization, attention to detail, and multitasking ability. Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels. Flexible and able to change priorities quickly and effectively. Comfortable speaking to small groups and presenting to larger groups in person or virtually. Ability to adapt to varying client needs. Access to personal cell phone, email, and internet; proficiency with online tools. Access to a personal webcam and audio for virtual events. Ability to set up and manage user account information on multiple online tools. Valid proof of auto insurance. Ability to plan and schedule travel and out‑of‑town accommodations. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Business attire required (VSP Polo shirt provided) unless directed otherwise. Ability to walk or stand 90% of the day at onsite events. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, not required. Open weekday availability throughout the year, especially between September and November.
