Hospice-Companionship Volunteer - Westland

AMARA HOSPICE Michigan is seeking friendly and compassionate individuals to provide companionship and interaction with our patients. Our volunteers are indispensable key members of the Hospice care team. They share their time, talents and interests by providing companionship and support to our patients.

The role of a volunteer would be to spend quality time with our patients engaging them in conversation and/or activities. Just a few examples of activities our volunteers and patients do together: play cards/games, read books, do crafts, watch sports, listen to music, go for walks, paint fingernails, look through family photo album, complete a legacy book together. Volunteers do NOT attend to personal care of patients, so no skills in this area are needed.

AMARA HOSPICE Michigan provides comprehensive training and orientation to support you and help you feel prepared in working with hospice patients. If you can give at least 5 hours a month, please join our team!!
