Our client is seeking an experienced Functional Safety Engineer, ready to bring their skills, experience, and energy to a great, growing team.
What you'll be doing...
- Review Safety PLC and electrical schematics to ensure compliance with OHSA standards.
- Develop detailed area project plans and schedules.
- Audit Safety Control Systems (SCS) for compliance with ISO 13849 and ANSI B11.
- Design and verify countermeasures to achieve target control category and performance levels.
- Lead cross-functional communication and collaboration to ensure issue resolution.
- Provide written and verbal project status reports to management and stakeholders.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and implementation as needed.
- 5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering within industrial or automation sectors.
- Functional Safety Expert certification or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 13849-1, ANSI B11, and other relevant standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Safety PLC programming, including reading, interpreting, modifying, and configuring logic.
- Availability to support weekends, off-shifts, and scheduled shutdowns.
- Ability to work in large industrial facilities, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, and more.
- Capability to safely lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
- Experience with risk assessment tools and methodologies like FMEA/FMEDA is a plus.
