Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit position requiring an active IL RN license and 2+ years of relevant experience. Job details include working in a Progressive Care/Telemetry unit within a hospital setting, maintaining a 1:7 patient ratio, and contract options of 48-hour or 36-hour weekly schedules with contract lengths of 8, 10, or 13 weeks available. The facility uses Epic EMR and operates as a Level 1 through Level 4 trauma center depending on location.

Requirements include an active RN license in Illinois required, with Iowa license or compact license required or in-process, minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required, prior travel contract experience preferred, current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required, experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required, experience administering and titrating Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban required, driver's license required for consideration, completed skills checklist within 1 year of application required, and one supervisory reference from within 2 years of employment/contract required.

Additional information includes providing direct patient care to a high-acuity telemetry/progressive care population, including titration of critical medications, candidates must not have been employed by the health system within the past 12 months, must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility unless applying for a Madison-area assignment, which accepts local candidates at a reduced rate, required to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving), limited to 1 day off requested during peak holiday blackout periods (11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26), and first-time travelers may be considered if they meet the experience requirements.
