Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at an Acute Care Hospital in City, State . This is a night shift position, requiring 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This role involves delivering high-quality care to patients in a dynamic emergency environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and standards.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering necessary medications and treatments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Effectively communicate with patients and their families to provide education and support.
• Assist in triaging patients based on the severity of their conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department or community hospital setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
• Previous experience with electronic health records, specifically EPIC, is required.
• Willingness to work during major holidays, including Thanksgiving and New Year's holidays, as needed based on unit requirements.

Unit Details

• Total Staffed Beds: 212
• Emergency Department Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Daily Census: Approximately 200 patients
• Special Procedures: Stroke and STEMI receiving facility

Additional Information

This position does not require call or floating to other units. Weekends may exceed the every-other-weekend requirement based on unit needs. Free parking is available on-site.

The Emergency Department deals with a diverse range of patient demographics, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit is equipped to handle various patient diagnoses and offers interdisciplinary support from multiple health services.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Coverage: Typically every other weekend, but may need to accommodate additional shifts as necessary
