Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction through on-site interaction. Mentors controls technicians, service technicians, and mechanical technicians on building automation activities. Properly completes project and service documentation. Provides customers with the highest level of service to resolve building inefficiencies and service-related items. As a trusted advisor, delivers solutions and outcomes at the time of service. How You Will Do It Diagnoses and repairs complex control system malfunctions, requiring extensive knowledge of various electronic or digital control systems and the ability to test and modify system software across languages. Consults with customers using data from site assessments; provides field proposals for retrofits, upgrades or enhancements; assists sales with technical recommendations. Manages work to meet professional execution, time, and customer satisfaction goals; reports problems or changes to management immediately; coordinates with branch manager, service manager, service project manager, or subcontractors ethically and professionally. Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections; may assist with job layouts and bid proposals. Communicates with customers on arrival and departure; ensures high levels of satisfaction; keeps customers informed on service provided, outstanding issues, and recommended system enhancements, upgrades, or replacements; promotes add-on work. Adheres to Johnson Controls and customer safety standards; provides safety leadership and instruction to all controls technicians; promotes safety awareness on-site with subcontractors. Trains customers in control system operations and provides manuals and documentation as required. Provides mentorship for certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicians on complex building automation systems; coaches and trains the technical workforce on non-complex equipment. Compiles job documentation, such as certificates of completion, customer training forms, training certificates, and punch lists. Maintains technical proficiency through self-study and completes certifications as required. Performs other duties related to installing, commissioning, and servicing building controls and facilities management and energy management systems. Assists in design and configuration of building control systems; creates flow diagrams, sequences of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics as required. Assists in developing and testing software programs required by project needs. Compiles as-built and close-out documentation; assists in creating drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. Selects, orders, and tracks materials; coordinates factory-mounting processes to meet schedules. Assists in loading and commissioning of system and network controllers; validates complete system functionality and troubleshoots with subcontractors and other trades. May provide field change information for as-built drawings and software; keeps management and customers informed of progress and issues. Assists in site-specific owner/operator training on total building control system; participates in release meetings with the project field team. Provides recommendations and solutions to optimize facility efficiency, including upsell opportunities; provides quotes to support recommendations. Minimum of four (4) years of Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry (buildings, chiller plants, and systems). Vocational School program graduate or an associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems. Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment. Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites. Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong writing skills and understanding of programs and software applications. Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems. Hiring Hourly Range: $28.84-$38.46 (hourly rate based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; internal equity and market data).
