This position is located in Wabash, IN. Knowledge Services has a great opportunity for a strong customer service focused individual who wants to make a difference in their daily work life with the FSSA / Division of Family Resources (DFR) as an Eligibility Assistant. This position will provide general office support and assistance for case workers and clients applying for public assistance. This position will provide customer service and interact directly with the general public, clients, office staff, and other state personnel. The DFR is responsible for determining eligibility for individuals applying and/or receiving public assistance. Programs include TANF (cash assistance), SNAP, and Medicaid. The Eligibility Assistant staff are front desk staff who are responsible for helping collect paperwork, processing or "pushing" applications and assisting clients who are applying and/or receiving public assistance among other administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include: welcoming all on-site visitors and determining nature of business, reviewing client information for accuracy, assisting with computer applications, scheduling client appointments, scanning documents into client case file, maintaining fax machines and copier functions, answering and directing incoming calls, maintaining daily activity reports, and delivering outstanding customer service to all clients.

Qualifications include: a desire to help others, strong customer service background, ability to maintain confidentiality, handle conflict in a calm manner, reliable and dependable in the workplace, ability to multi-task, proven job stability, high school diploma or equivalent, clean criminal background, and previous experience as a Customer Service Representative, Cashier, Clerk, Administrative Assistant, Receptionist, or Front Office desired.

This is a long-term position where you can make an immediate impact on your community, plus the potential for promotion. The wage is $14.00/hr with paid time off, benefits, and a 37.5 hour work week of Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM.

Physical requirements include: job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands. Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
