Walpole PD: Full-Time Certified MPTC Academy Trained Officer Academy/Certification: Must have successfully completed a full-time MPTC Police Academy, and be POST Certified; Residency: In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, candidate must establish residency within 15 miles of the limits of the Town of Walpole within one year from the date of appointment. Education: Must have an Associate's Degree, or Attained an equivalent number of credits toward a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university, or Possess a High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent and have achieved Veteran's status with the United States Armed Forces as defined by Massachusetts General Law. Non-Smoker: Must be a non-smoker of tobacco products under M.G.L. Chapter 41, Section 101A, and remain a non-smoker. Background: Must pass a comprehensive background investigation. Character: No person who has been convicted of a felony shall be appointed as a police officer. Additional Qualifications Must have the ability to: Pass a medical and psychological exam. Pass an oral interview prior to appointment. Perform the duties of a Walpole Police Officer. Salary & Compensation Annual Salary Range: $60,216 - $80,430 (FY26) + Generous Benefits Package Other Compensation: Educational Incentive Program: Officers with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university qualify for incentives. Additional incentives are available for certain qualified Master’s degree programs. Associate’s Degree: 10% Bachelor’s Degree: 20% Master’s Degree: 25% Night Differential Health Insurance: 60/40 Split. Medical Stipend Additional Insurance Benefits: Dental, Life, and Disability.
