About the Senior Tax Accountant Opportunity: Join a respected boutique CPA firm serving clients throughout New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to work in a collaborative environment with personalized client service and career growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
- Research tax issues and ensure compliance with current tax regulations
- Assist with tax planning strategies and provide recommendations to minimize tax liability
- Support tax audits and respond to tax authority inquiries
- Mentor junior staff and review their work for accuracy
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters
- Stay current with tax law changes and communicate impacts to the team
Required Qualifications
- Accounting degree (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- 3-6 years of tax accounting experience ( public accounting essential )
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (CCH, Thomson Reuters, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
