Veterinary Technician – Emergency Department Location: South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (SAVES) Center, Fayetteville, GA. Our hospital operates 24/7 for emergency services and by appointment for specialty departments. Shift schedule: Nights, weekends, and holidays. About You You will play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end‑to‑end care, including hand‑on treatments, lab tests, admitting and discharging patients, and supporting the medical team. Qualifications Veterinary technician, licensure preferred but not required. 1–2 years of clinical experience. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program, or equivalent education, training, and experience. Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and advocate for pets. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act. Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and guide them on memberships, medications, and additional treatments. Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records and ensure practice systems are up to date. Obtain relevant health history and maintain accurate medical charts. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. Maintain positive patient flow and maximize productivity of the medical team. Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
