Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced, adult and pediatric emergency department environment. Ensure patient safety and effective clinical management during night shifts, adhering to hospital protocols and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and prioritize patient conditions through effective triage and clinical evaluation.
• Administer treatments, medications, and interventions following physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including electrocardiogram (EKG) analysis and rhythm management.
• Start IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage other proven skills with efficiency and precision.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including float assignments across campuses, ensuring smooth patient flow and continuity of care.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using EPIC and Cerner EMR systems.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid, active nursing license with minimum two years of emergency department experience.
• Hold current BLS, ACLS, NIH, and PALS certifications; TNCC preferred.
• Demonstrate experience with adult and pediatric emergency care, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Exhibit strong clinical skills in phlebotomy, IV placement, and triage.
• Be able to pass a compliance EKG exam within two attempts.
• Comfort with float duty across multiple campuses and flexible scheduling.
