SENIOR DATA ANALYST

Overview Senior Data Analyst (RDA II) under the supervision of the Research Data Supervisor works on complex research and statistical tasks to support the stop data collection requirements under the Racial and Identity Profiling Act of 2015 (AB 953). The role involves identifying data needs, summarizing data with appropriate statistical techniques, and presenting findings orally or in writing. Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary project team—including program management, Department of Justice partners, local law enforcement agencies, and stakeholders such as the Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Board, vendors, or consultants—is essential. The role requires logical and creative reasoning to analyze data, develop methodologies, and provide projections and consultation using a variety of analytical techniques. Responsibilities Identify data requirements for the project and determine necessary data sources. Prepare data summaries and apply statistical techniques to interpret findings. Communicate results clearly, both orally and in writing, to project teams and stakeholders. Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop reports and analytical tools. Develop methodologies and assumptions and provide projections and consultation as needed.
