Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required License: Active Illinois license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC or TNS required Must-Have: - Candidates must possess the required certifications. - General nursing skills are essential. - Preference for candidates with at least one prior travel assignment. - SANE RN experience preferred. - Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred. - Proficiency in titrating vasopressor drips and cardiac drips is necessary. Description: The role requires caring for a wide variety of patients in the emergency room. Patients may range from newborns to the elderly, presenting with diverse complaints. Nurses will handle both minor concerns and critically ill patients. Experience managing trauma situations is beneficial, particularly with stabilized patients. The emergency room operates with a nurse-patient ratio that varies based on acuity. Nurses are expected to interpret rhythms and take appropriate action in critical care settings. The facility is equipped with various respiratory therapy devices, and staff will assist when needed. Teamwork is essential, with charge nurses managing departmental needs and supporting critical cases. Nurses will work alongside techs for lab draws and other auxiliary services. The schedule includes rotating shifts, with particular weekend and holiday commitments. Floating to other units may occur but is generally limited. Nurses should wear tasteful scrubs with solid-colored shirts underneath.
