Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care before, during, and after surgery
• Perform patient assessments and monitor physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical care continuum
• Create and maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment
• Deliver pre- and post-operative patient education and coordinate care across the surgical team
• Primarily serve in a circulating role across all surgical specialties (excluding cardiac and ophthalmology), including coverage in Labor & Delivery for C-sections; strong skills in vascular and orthopedic surgery are required
• Care for a pediatric-to-adult patient population across a 14-room OR suite averaging approximately 50 procedures per day

Required Qualifications

• Active New York RN license (must be current and uploaded with profile; facility will not pend licenses or certifications)
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current OR experience required
• Float experience in vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic, urology, and ENT required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Scrub and circulate experience both required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have own personal vehicle
• Completion of approved verbal de-escalation training (Welle, CPI, or PMCS) required for onboarding and clearance
• Must pass a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Candidates with a permanent address in the following New York counties are not eligible for this assignment: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Scrub experience in addition to circulating is a strong asset
• Experience across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Familiarity with Labor & Delivery OR environments, including C-section coverage
