Description Lima One Capital is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role plays a key part in supporting our monthly accounting and reporting functions within a fast-paced, growth-oriented real estate lending environment. Job Type Full-time Job Responsibilities Assist with month-end, quarter-end close and year-end processes, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation and support for general ledger accounts Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger monthly, identifying and resolving outstanding items in a timely manner Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations across key accounts including cash, loans receivable, debt (line of credit), accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies, escalating issues to senior staff as needed Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data Utilize Campfire ERP to process transactions, maintain the general ledger, and execute close activities Leverage AI tools including Claude and Shortcut to draft reports, analyze data, automate repetitive accounting tasks, and manage workflow deliverables Query Snowflake data warehouse to extract financial data in support of reporting and reconciliation activities Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and visual reports to communicate financial trends to leadership Write and troubleshoot SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze financial data across systems; use Python or similar scripting tools to automate recurring accounting tasks and streamline data analysis Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or 4+ years of related accounting experience in lieu of a 4-year degree may be considered. 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services, mortgage lending, or real estate Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Tech-savvy with a genuine interest in working across modern accounting and data platforms; experience with accounting ERP systems and familiarity with Campfire, Snowflake, Tableau, or AI-assisted tools (Claude, Shortcut) a strong plus Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing data; basic coding or scripting experience (e.g., Python) is a plus for automating reports and streamlining data analysis Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict close deadlines; experience working in a SOX-compliant environment preferred Industry Leading Benefits Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability Hospitalization and Accidental Insurance Flexible Spending Accounts – Health and Dependent Care Health Savings Account Safe Harbor 401K with company match Growing Families Support (including paid parental leave, infertility support and assistance, childcare reimbursement, and elder care) Pet Insurance Work Life Balance 12 paid time off days and 5 sick days, in addition to 12 paid holidays – that’s about a month of time to rest, relax, and recharge every year.
