Position Summary


The Director of Membership and Marketing leads membership growth and retention through a coordinated approach to sales, marketing, member communications and engagement. This person builds relationships with prospective and current members, communicates the value of membership, and works with club leaders to deliver programs and experiences that strengthen the member community. The role owns the membership sales process, develops marketing campaigns and maintains clear, timely communications across club channels.

Key Responsibilities


Membership Sales and Growth

• Develop and execute the membership sales plan, including prospecting, referrals, outreach, tours, prospective member events and follow-up, in support of approved goals.
• Manage the full inquiry and application process; maintain accurate prospect records, track the pipeline and coordinate onboarding with the appropriate club leaders.
• Build relationships with members, local businesses and community partners to generate qualified referrals and represent the club at relevant events.
• Use market research, member feedback and sales results to recommend improvements to membership offerings, promotions and sales tactics.

Marketing and Communications

• Develop and manage the club marketing plan, campaigns and content calendar across digital, email, website, print and other relevant channels.
• Engage with the existing member communications role to write and coordinate accurate, timely member communications about club news, events, amenities, policies and operational updates; maintain a consistent club voice.
• Partner with golf, food and beverage, events and other teams to promote club experiences and keep member-facing information current and consistent.
• Monitor campaign performance, membership leads, sales conversion and marketing spend; report results and adjust activity to meet budgeted goals.

Member Engagement and Retention

• Create and coordinate the new member welcome and orientation experience, helping members connect with the club and use their benefits.
• Collaborate with club leaders on the member event calendar, participation campaigns and opportunities to build connections among members.
• Build relationships with current members, seek feedback and identify engagement or retention concerns early; coordinate follow-up and improvements with the team.
• Maintain accurate membership and communication records, including contact preferences, and provide regular updates on engagement and retention trends.

Leadership and Coordination

• Work across departments to ensure prospective and current members receive responsive, consistent service and clear information.
• Prepare timely sales, marketing and membership reports; manage assigned budgets and support annual planning.
• Train or guide team members involved in referrals, sales, communications and member engagement, as applicable; perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in membership sales, marketing or member relations; private club, golf or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong writing, presentation, relationship-building and organizational skills, with sound judgment in sensitive member communications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline, execute campaigns, use customer relationship management tools and interpret performance data.
• Ability to manage competing priorities independently and collaborate across departments; availability for some evenings and weekends.
• College degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.

Full-time, salaried, exempt, year-round

Pay Range


Total annual salary including commissions $75,000 to $100,000
