Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in San Francisco, California. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/27/2026 Duration: 25 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Summary The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located at an organization that provides comprehensive critical care services. This role involves floating across various adult medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac units, including the emergency department and post-anesthesia care units. The position requires adaptability to a rotating shift schedule and ensuring high-quality patient care within a dynamic environment. Job Details Schedule: 12-hour shifts, starting on 10/27/2026, ending on 04/20/2027, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including rotating day/night shifts. Required Qualifications: California registered nurse license, BSN degree, minimum 2 years ICU experience, and 2.5 years recent adult medical/surgical critical care experience. Certifications required include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). At least 4 years of total nursing experience and recent float pool, post-anesthesia care unit, or emergency room experience are preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic charting in Epic, neuro, or transplant ICU experience. Additional Information: Candidates must be able to float to all UCSF campuses and departments. RTO requests must be disclosed at the time of submittal and approved prior to the start. References from recent employers are required, along with proof of certifications and California RN license. Travel Experience: Required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Skills: Managing ports, arterial line care, ventilator management, ECMO, patient monitoring, high-acuity patient management, and use of specialized ICU equipment. Orientation Hours: 24 hours, scheduled before the start date. Additional Notes: The role involves floating across all ICU units, ED, PACU, and other critical care areas, with flexibility to adapt to operational needs within a 75+ mile radius.
