Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred; NIH preferred Must-Have: Cardiac Progressive Care experience Comfortable with patient ratios of 1:5 Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Telemetry monitoring skills Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips Description: This role is for a registered nurse specializing in the Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will provide care for patients with cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias. Experience with pre and post cardiac catheterization is required. Nurses will need to focus on patient care, ensuring safe monitoring and management of cardiac drips, including procedural sedation administration. The position requires the ability to work with a diverse range of patient age groups, primarily adults. The unit operates 24/7 with nursing staff scheduled via a self-assisted schedule. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and have the support of nurse assistants. Telemetry monitoring is a key responsibility, with rooms being remotely monitored. Candidates should expect to manage patients with possible respiratory issues, such as COPD and pneumonia. Compliance with attendance policies is mandatory, with a focus on punctuality and professionalism. All nurses are required to pass a compliance EKG exam regardless of specialty.
