XRAY Technician

The position requires proficiency in the Operating Room. The first half of the shift will be during the day, and the second half will transition to the evening. Weekends will be included in the schedule. General certification requirements include BLS certification and ARRT certification. The department consists of four rooms, portables, and potential coverage for the Operating Room. This role may involve floating or covering other areas such as X-ray and CT. Common types of imaging performed include chest, spine, and extremity studies. The daily average number of scans/studies performed is variable. The electronic medical record and Picture Archive & Communication System used is Epic and PACS. Department-specific equipment includes Philips, GE, and Carestream. The role will involve working with a lead technologist available 24/7. There are no Registered Radiology Assistants utilized in this department. Radiologists are in-house during the day until 6 PM and are external at night. Starting IVs is not required for this position. Manager will create the schedule, with two staff members present at all times during shifts. Flexibility in scheduling and adaptability to department needs is essential. There is no call or standby requirement. Scrub color is ceil blue; scrubs are not provided, but the facility has some available. Department orientation includes a tour of the unit and one week of training. Candidates must possess flexibility and willingness to work with department needs. Cancellation policy includes two shifts per assignment. The position does not require a BSN. The trauma level and care setting are categorized as acute.
