Step into a dynamic educational support role as a paraprofessional working with high school students in a classroom environment. This contract opportunity runs from August through May, with hours from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, providing vital classroom support near the Helena area, specifically in the Blytheville region. The position is based in a standard classroom and may include assignments in special education settings. Candidates should be comfortable assisting teachers, adapting to various student needs, and responding appropriately to a variety of student behaviors.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Comfort in supporting both general and special education classrooms
• Ability to handle and adapt to unique student behaviors with patience and professionalism
• Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are considered a valuable asset
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with teachers and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on classroom assistance to teachers and support high school students with daily activities
• Help implement lesson plans and individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
• Assist with classroom management, behavioral support, and small group or one-on-one instruction as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold school policies at all times
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training
