Athletic Trainer Supervisor

The individual is responsible for the prevention, care, rehabilitation of athletic injuries, and the administration of all facets of the athletic training room and program. Essential duties include establishing standard procedures for first aid and emergency care of athletes during practice and games, coordinating the supervision and rehabilitation of injured athletes, establishing recommendations and provisions of appropriate training and conditioning procedures, establishing and supervising a student-teacher trainer program, establishing and supervising the operation of a well-equipped training room, coordinating the acquisition of appropriate consent forms, and establishing procedures for physical examination for all participants. Other duties may include performing such other tasks and assuming such other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include completion of an approved Athletic Training Education Program, certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer by BOC, and State of South Carolina Certification as an Athletic Trainer through DHEC. Ability to work effectively with people is also required.

Additional physical requirements include the following: Sufficiently mobile to ensure the safety of students; Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus; Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; Manual dexterity; Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone and Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.

Duties are normally performed in a school/training room, athletic field environment.
