Sr. Engineer/Principal, R&D Software Quality

OverviewClario is seeking a Sr. Engineer/Principal, R&D Software Quality to take responsibility for the engineering of software quality for an enterprise level product in a highly regulated environment.ResponsibilitiesServe as a senior test designer and contributor in a quality engineering team.Review Product Requirement documents and Engineering Functional Specifications, define test strategy, and scope test effort as part of regular planning cycle.Write detailed test plans for assigned features to include manual and automated testsDefine test strategy for new product features.Help set the direction, process, and general test methodology for parallel development of the software and automated test suite.Assist other members of the team with technical problems in test environments and script developmentWork with the software engineering team to resolve issues arising in the test processDevelop and maintain manual and automated scripts and libraries for testing the PHT product suiteDevelop and maintain innovative, repeatable QA test plans based on functional requirements, use cases, user interface designs, system design documents and domain knowledgeWork with QA team members, software developers and system and database administrators to trouble-shoot test failures in the various test environments. This may include trouble-shooting database issues using SQL queries, reviewing web server and application server logs, etc.Manage SQE Lab servers as neededSome degree of creativity and latitude is required.Provide Team Leadership or Technical Leadership.The duties and responsibilities listed in this job description represent the major responsibilities of the position. This job description and any attachments do not constitute or represent a contract.QualificationsWhat we seek - Undergraduate degree or higher from an accredited university or college with preference toward Bachelor of Science or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in the field of software quality engineeringKnowledge in the software development lifecycle, practices and scripting languages such as javascript, Ruby, Python, etc., as well as SQL.Experience with testing web and/or mobile phone applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively in EnglishKnowledgeable in software testing techniques (Functional, Integration, System, Regression)Experienced with test management tools for requirement, test case and defect tracking. Specific experience with Polarion is a plusSome experience with software test automation.
