Salary: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour, based on experience.

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop is Currently Seeking an Experienced and Motivated Transportation Driver to Join our Intensive Outpatient Team in Farmerville, Louisiana.

Position Summary:

• Coordinates safe transportation of IOP patients to and from their residences/appointments as well as meal pick up.
• Provides assistance to mental health services staff for patient care activities.
• The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the transporting of patients to and from the facility site, assistance in the overall day-to-day functioning of the program including aiding other staff in patient chart production, meal provision, answering telephones and supervision of patients during staff break periods.
• The Mental Health Worker/Transportation Driver is responsible for communicating to staff any problematic or clinical issues that occur during his/her supervision of or transportation of patients.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalentrequired.

License:

• Current, valid state drivers license with a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association. (Will provide service or renewal if needed)
  

Experience:

• Transporting patients or passengers in a 1012 passenger van or similar vehicle. (Preferred)
• 12 years of driving or transportation experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or similar setting. (Preferred)

• Ability to maintain professionalism and demonstrate patience and compassion with patients
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
• Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic situations
• Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling systems
• Understanding of basic medical and psychiatric conditions preferred
