Position Overview

The Material Handler I is responsible for managing the movement of materials throughout the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely order fulfillment and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

• Pick, pack, and audit customer orders accurately.
• Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
• Move materials between receiving, storage, and production areas.
• Organize inventory on racks, shelves, and bins based on product specifications.

Inventory & Order Management

• Read and interpret work orders, shipping orders, and production schedules.
• Assemble orders and prepare them for shipment.
• Record inventory movements using warehouse systems.
• Weigh and count items to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.

Equipment & Safety

• Operate material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of warehouse or material handling experience.
• Ability to read and use warehouse computer systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of forklift experience (stand-up and sit-down).
• Experience in high-volume warehouse or distribution environments.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull for extended periods.
• Ability to work in varying conditions (heat, cold, noise, dust).
• Comfortable working on concrete surfaces and in warehouse environments.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced, team-oriented setting (team of 5–6 under a Team Lead).
• Exposure to indoor/outdoor warehouse conditions.
• May require use of hearing protection and PPE.
