Job Description Posted July 14, 2026 Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW) is a not-for-profit cooperative committed to quality and collaborative care. This full-time position (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week) will split time between the Capitol Clinic and Hatchery Hill Clinic to provide patient care. The Registered Dietitian provides evidence-based medical nutrition therapy (MNT), nutrition education, and behavior change counseling to GHC-SCW members across the continuum of care. Services are delivered through individual visits, group education, telehealth, and other outreach programs to promote health, prevent disease, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions. The role includes collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized nutrition care plans, support chronic disease management, and improve patient outcomes. The position also participates in community outreach, program development, and creation of patient education resources. Job-Specific Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics required. Master’s degree in nutrition or working toward a Master’s is preferred. Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required. Wisconsin certification as a dietitian, or eligibility to obtain certification, required. Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator is desirable. The ability to travel between GHC-SCW locations and community sites as needed. Minimum of two (2) years of experience with providing individual medical nutrition therapy and group teaching is preferred. Experience in a clinical outpatient setting is preferred. Experience working with a pediatric population is desirable. Experience working with patients with eating disorders is preferred. Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating nutrition education programs is preferred. Knowledge of evidence-based medical nutrition therapy for prevention and management of chronic conditions (e.g., prediabetes, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, dyslipidemia, pregnancy, weight management). Knowledge of basic counseling skills, including motivational interviewing and behavior change strategies, with the ability to provide culturally responsive, patient-centered care to diverse populations. Strong written communication skills with experience developing, reviewing, and evaluating patient education materials using health literacy principles. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic preferred), virtual visit platforms, and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team and build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed and perform essential functions, including computer use, frequent communication by phone and in person, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
