Facilities Maintenance TechnicianThe Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician at our Toma-Tek facility in Firebaugh, CA, 93622. The Neil Jones Food Company processes superior quality, fresh packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. With headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 35 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.Summary: Performs general maintenance duties to properly maintain plant facility and grounds. Uses a variety of pneumatic tools and operates heavy machinery (including forklift, tractor, boom lift); makes necessary repairs and adjustments on equipment and electric pumps. Documents daily work and work orders and communicates information to Supervisor. Ensures that all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP'S), Safety, and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and company policies and procedures are followed and uniformly enforced.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out regular building inspections to identify and resolve potential structural, mechanical, and safety issues.Documents daily work and work orders and communicates information to Supervisor.Ensures response time to any utilities failure is adequate to minimize production downtime.Response to break down in timely manner and assist others as needed Inspect safety features on machinery and reports any safety hazards to foreman.Be able to do handy man work such as work with plumbing, pumps, valves, and regulators.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties of the job.Minimum one year of related experience in a plant or industrial setting.Ability to pass certification and operate a forklift; operate tractor with front end loader and operate boom lifts when necessary.Requires fundamental welding and soldering skills.Requires a Valid California Driver's license.Applicants have rights under Federal Employment LawsFamily and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA)The Neil Jones Food Company participates in E-VerifyE-Verify ParticipationIf You Have the Right to Work, Don't Let Anyone Take It AwayWe are an Equal Opportunity and Fair Chance Employer.
