Labor And Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-risk obstetrics and a strong background in obstetric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and antepartum periods.
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the labor and delivery process.
• Effectively manage care in a unit consisting of postpartum rooms, swing/antepartum rooms, labor rooms, triage rooms, and operating rooms.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in the rotation pool of staff, which may require additional hours as needed for unit coverage.
• Float or reassign to different departments or units within the clinical competence as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, specifically high-risk cases.
• Prior experience in obstetrics is essential.
• Previous travel nursing experience is required.
• Certifications required: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and fetal monitoring certification.

Unit Information

• 12 postpartum rooms
• 4 swing/antepartum rooms
• 5 labor rooms
• 4 triage rooms
• 2 operating rooms

Patient Ratios

• Labor and Delivery: 1:3
• Antepartum: 1:3
• Mother/Baby Couplet: 1:6

Scrubs will be provided, and the EMR system in use is Epic with Med System: Pysis. This position requires flexibility and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care within a fast-paced environment.
