We are looking for an Optician to join our team. As an Optician you will sell, fit and dispense eyewear to patients. Our Opticians help customers look and see their best working with the latest Eyewear Fashion Trends!Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:30-5:00Tuesday: 8:30-7:00What you will be doingRemain current with eyewear trends.Evaluate customer's prescriptions and visual requirements.Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs.Measure clients bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices.Selling goods such as contact lenses, spectacles, sunglasses, and other goods related to eyes in general.Assist customers in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.Heat and shape plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clientsShow customers how to insert, remove, and care for their contact lenses.Determine customer's current lens prescriptions, when necessary, using lensometer or lens analyzers and customer's eyeglasses.Order and purchase frames and lenses.What you knowRequiredHigh school diploma or GED equivalentExperience working in customer serviceExcellent verbal communication skillsDesired2 years recent retail office experience (Optical Retail preferred)ABO/NCLE CertifiedGraduate of Optical Studies ProgramFamiliarity with Ophthalmology and Optometry practiceWhat you will receiveCompetitive wagesNetwork of Partnered Practices across 5 statesLucrative Monthly Incentive ProgramLittle to No nights or weekends!Robust benefit package including medical, dental, life and disability (short- and long-term) insuranceGenerous paid time off (PTO) programSeven (7) company paid holidays401(k) retirement plan with company matchAn organization focused on People, Passion, Purpose and ProgressInspirational cultureAbout Midwest Vision PartnersMidwest Vision Partners was founded in 2019 to build a premier eye care platform in partnership with Alpine Investors, a San Francisco-based private equity firm.
