POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Residential Manager, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for the direct supervision of the Direct Support Professionals and will provide direct oversight of service planning and the provision of clinical and health care services. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the implementation of day-to-day activities and oversight of the assigned residence.DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works in partnership with the people we support to ensure that the rights, health, safety, and personal outcomes of the people living in the residence are being supported at all times Advocates with people we support in a variety of situations Works with the people we support to teach them new life skills Assists the people we support to overcome barriers and challenges to establish and maintain a network of relationships and valued social roles Supervises, trains, evaluates, and observes assigned Direct Support Professionals (DSP) Ensures that all required documentation is completed appropriately and in a timely manner Prevents, recognizes, and reports abuse toward the people we support Provides ongoing protective oversight to individuals living in the residence Maintains ongoing communication and always communicates in a respectful manner with all people including the people we support, supervisors, other valued team members, and members of the community Provides emergency coverage and covers DSP responsibilities as needed Coordinates, supports, attends, and participates in all required events/meetings/reviews/committees as required Maintains the confidentiality of any information relating to individuals and employees of the organization Ensures that the residence, including the external property, is clean, safe, and attractive at all times Completes all required trainings and stays in compliance Ensures that all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed /processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds Performs other duties as assigned Responsibilities of All FREE Employees Always communicates in a respectful manner with all people including the people we support, supervisors, other valued team members, and members of the community. Complies fully with FREE’s confidentiality policies by holding in strictest confidence all information pertaining to members, residents, the people we support and their families, clients, providers, contractors, and employees. Meets all safety training requirements; adheres to all safety policies and reports any and all unsafe conditions; takes measures to prevent accidents and/or eliminate conditions that pose a safety or health risk. Coordinates, supports, attends and participates in all required events/ meetings/ reviews/ committees, including ones outside of standard working hours. Meets all job requirements and stays in compliance. Adheres to FREE’s standard of ethical behavior as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct as well as applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities of FREE Employees in Leadership/Management Positions: Ensures compliance with FREE policies, procedures, and operating standards. Implements a continuous quality improvement process for department services and administrative functions. Assists in the development, implementation and administration of Human Resources policies and programs including compliance with Equal Employment Opportunities and Affirmative Action Programs. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities Supervisory experience preferred Specialized Training, Licenses, Certifications: Valid CPR/FA certification required (provided upon hire if needed) Valid SCIP certification (provided upon hire if needed – OPWDD only) Valid TRUST certification (must complete within first 120 days of hire – OMH only) AMAP certification highly preferred (OPWDD only) Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities: Ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License and able to satisfy criteria to be a driver for FREE required Based on business needs, loss of driving privileges may result in change of work location, shift, weekly hours, or termination of employment.WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is performed in-person. Some travel is required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee is required to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours). Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax and filing cabinets. Employee might be required to lift/move light items.
