As Business Unit Controller you take full financial ownership of the Marketplace Business— from revenue and cost of sales through to EBITDA. You are the finance counterpart to business unit leadership: you explain what happened, forecast what is coming, and flag what needs to change. You will join at a point where the finance function is moving from reporting-focused controlling towards forward-looking planning and analysis. This is a hands-on role with high visibility: you will work directly with business unit leads and Group Accounting, and you will have real influence over how performance is measured and understood across the group.What You Will DoOwn the business unit P&L, end to endTake ownership of the full P&L for your assigned business units: gross revenue, cost of sales, net revenue margin, personnel costs, external costs and all SG&A linesUnderstand and challenge the operational drivers behind each lineSafeguard cost center and account-level integrity, ensuring spend is recorded in the correct entity, business unit and cost lineManage intercompany recharges and eliminations relevant to your business unitsSupport the month-end closePrepare and review accruals, prepayments and manual adjustments within close deadlinesReconcile ledger data to consolidated actuals and resolve differences before reportingProduce variance analysis (month-on-month, budget-versus-actual, year-on-year) with clear root-cause commentary traceable to source dataContribute to close quality improvements — fewer late adjustments and cleaner first-pass numbersPresent the numbers to stakeholdersPresent monthly performance to business unit leads and Group leadershipTranslate financial movements into a clear business narrative rather than a list of variancesOwn the recurring reporting pack for your business units and stand behind the detailDrive budgeting, forecasting and modellingRun the annual budget and rolling forecast cycles for your business units together with operational stakeholders, in support of the Director of FP&ABuild and maintain driver-based financial models at the appropriate level of detailTrack forecast accuracy over time and explain deviationsSupport ad-hoc modelling: scenario analysis, business cases, and margin and profitability deep divesWhat You Will Bring5+ years of experience in controlling or audit, ideally in a multi-entity environmentExperience in adtech, SaaS or another platform businessDemonstrated P&L ownership and confident financial modelling skills in ExcelComfort working with large ledger data sets and reconciling data across multiple systemsThe ability to present to, and constructively challenge, senior non-finance stakeholdersStructured, accuracy-focused working style and the ability to meet close deadlinesFluent business EnglishNice To HaveHands-on experience with LucaNet and NetSuiteWorking knowledge of IFRS in a consolidated groupExperience in a listed company reporting environmentBasic SQL literacyWhat We OfferSome company benefits include:Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus mental health resources401(k) match and generous PTOPre-tax FSA and HSA plans for Healthcare, Dependent care, and CommutingPaid Parental Leave for life’s important milestonesHybrid work environment (NYC office)Free lunch for onsite team members in NYCCommunications regarding your application will only come from @jungroup.com or @verve.com email addresses.Salary Range$120,000—$150,000 USDVerve provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
