Lombard, ILStructural Engineering – Engineering /Full Time /HybridResponsibilitiesPerform technical responsibilities required of a Structural Engineer II/IIIMentor less experienced engineersContribute to client meetings as department representativeDemonstrate familiarity with Valdes A&E structural engineering work practicesPrepare AutoCAD and Revit drawingsDemonstrate familiarity and expertise in using Revit and Navisworks in 3D modelingPrepare structural scopes of work and material take-offsDevelop a refined understanding of construction drawings such as Plans, Sections, Details, and Piping IsometricsDevelop familiarity and expertise with prevalent structural industry codes, standards, and practices (i.e., AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, etc.)Demonstrate understanding of client standards and specificationsReview steel fabricator, concrete rebar, and other vendor shop drawings and submittalsPerform and document simple structural calculations under the guidance of a more senior colleagueDemonstrate proficiency in using Risa 3D, PROFIS, MathCAD, and other software commonly used in the departmentDemonstrate continuous technical improvement and desire to sit for the structural engineer (SE) examVerify field conditions, constructability of designs, and assist in resolving problems during field constructionQualificationsBachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering3-5 years of experience working as a Structural EngineerRefined understanding of statics, dynamics, steel design, and concrete designBasic technical report writing skillsBasic 2D and/or 3D CAD expertiseBasic Microsoft Office expertiseMust possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skillsMust be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future$90,000 - $120,000 a yearSalaries for all positions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, total years of experience in the industry, education, skills, and qualifications.
