Senior Legal Pricing Analyst

Position Overview

Our client, a premier global law firm, is seeking a Senior Legal Pricing Analyst to join its 10-12 person pricing team in New York City on a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite and 3 days remote per week). Partnering directly with partners and practice group leaders, you will shape pricing strategy, structure special fee arrangements and Alternative Fee Agreements (AFAs), and lead global RFP responses that span multiple practices. You will turn complex financial data into actionable insights and use AI and technology to streamline how the pricing function works. The role offers a starting base salary of $135-150K plus a discretionary bonus and an 8% 401K match!

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with attorneys to understand the legal work being priced, and develop pricing strategies and analytical models that evaluate pricing scenarios and recommend optimal fee structures to ensure profitability
• Structure special fee arrangements and Alternative Fee Agreements (AFAs), drafting fee proposals and engagement letters, advising partners on strategy, and helping present proposals to clients
• Lead responses to global, multi-disciplinary Requests for Proposal (RFPs) that span multiple practices, coordinating and synthesizing input from multiple departments
• Prepare cost estimates for prospective and existing matters across litigation, regulatory, and transactional work
• Analyze historical matter data on utilization, realization, and profitability, and track market trends and competitor pricing to recommend adjustments to pricing models
• Monitor engagement performance against budgets, review investment and realization reports, and present findings and key performance metrics to partners, senior management, and clients
• Maintain AFA databases with a focus on data accuracy, and serve as a resource on analytical methodologies, accounting processes, and AFA compliance with client billing agreements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in a law firm or professional services environment
• Significant experience in legal pricing or financial analysis required
• Strong financial modeling skills required; RFP experience preferred
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives and using AI to automate manual tasks preferred
• Advanced Excel skills required; proficiency in Power BI and Aderant preferred
• Strong communication skills and executive presence, with the confidence to work directly with partners
