Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for providing immobilization devices as required, selecting and operating Nuclear Medicine equipment, and evaluating radio images utilizing the PACS system to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value. This role includes administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing radionuclide procedures, and ensuring radiation protection for both the technologist and patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
• Perform radionuclide procedures including organ imaging and function studies.
• Evaluate images using the PACS workstation for diagnostic value.
• Calibrate equipment and assay radionuclides.
• Maintain records of radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the work environment.
• Comply with NRC, state, and JCAHO guidelines and practices.
• Handle daily clerical tasks including patient scheduling and system data entry.
• Provide excellent patient care adhering to A.I.D.E.T. standards.
• Adjust care delivery based on the specific needs of the patient population served.

Schedule

This position operates on a Day shift from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, requiring coverage on holidays and weekends as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a busy hospital setting as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Must hold a valid NJDEP license.
• ARRT or NMTCB registry required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
