This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that's constantly evolving.Main responsibilities:Commitment to providing and maintaining a safe work environmentLead, coach, and supervise transportation personnel to attain specific goals and measurable resultsMust be able to work a schedule to support the business (including weekends, holidays, and nights)Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.Train and develop dispatchers and drivers, identifying and mentoring high potential candidatesSuccessful interaction between other departments within the distribution center and retailMaintain positive associate relationsProvide superior service to our customersDetermine equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needsMaintain capital assets in an as-designed condition in a cost-effective mannerImplement new and monitor existing initiatives to reduce costSupervise and dispatch driversWork with drivers to maintain safe and courteous driving skills / facilitate meetings and development workshopsEnsure accuracy within transportation operationsEnsure compliance with all OSHA, DOT, Sanitation and Food Safety regulationsMaintain accurate and complete documentation of transportation operations and personnelWe are looking for candidates who possess the following:High school graduate; bachelor's or 5 years supervisory experience in trucking as equivalent preferred3 plus years' experience of progressive trucking experience / grocery retail preferredKnowledge of OSHA & DOT safety regulations, sanitation, and food safety - Management LevelStrong technical skills and experience with TMS fleet routing optimization software (Prospero, One Network & CAMS preferred) as well as fleet on-board computer systems (XATA preferred).Experience using warehouse management system to interact with TMSExcellent math skillsEnthusiastic and willing to learn new programs and proceduresAbility to make decisions quickly and cost effectivelyPossess strong resolution skills and have the ability to take decisive actionExcellent written and oral interpersonal/communication skillsProven leadership ability to encompass a minimum 3 plus years' experience managing 30 plus reportsAble to chart, forecast, plan, manage, and measure day-to-day operationsAble to effectively interact with multiple levels within the distribution center and within the companyExhibits initiative and a high energy for innovation, exemplary customer service skills, and resourcefulnessWorking knowledge of Microsoft Suite to include high level of Excel proficientWe also provide a variety of benefits including:Competitive wages paid weeklyAccess to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with StreamAssociate discountsHealth and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
