Travel Echo Technician in Atlanta, GA

A cardiac sonographer opportunity is available for a traveling professional skilled in adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. This role requires performing comprehensive cardiac imaging under the guidance of supervisory staff, with a focus on patient safety and quality diagnostics. You will engage with patients and the healthcare team to provide accurate, timely cardiac ultrasound studies, assisting with ultrasound enhancing agents and saline bubble studies as needed.


Responsibilities:

• Verify physician orders and patient identity, obtain clinical history, and prepare patients for echocardiographic exams
• Perform precise imaging and measurements according to laboratory protocols
• Communicate preliminary findings to physicians and address patient concerns thoroughly
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment with infection control adherence
• Assist in other imaging modalities when necessary and participate in departmental education and quality initiatives
• Take call, weekend, and holiday shifts on a rotating basis

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; preferred completion of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program
• Required certifications: ARDMS (RCS, RDCS, or RDCS-AE) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Minimum one year of echocardiography experience preferred
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and ability to work independently under pressure
• Detail-oriented with effective multitasking and problem-solving abilities
• Flexibility with various shift schedules and rotating on-call duties
