About the Role
The Company is in search of a VP, Travel Insurance Counsel to take on a pivotal role as the primary legal advisor for its travel insurance and accident/health business. The successful candidate will be a seasoned attorney with a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing. This position is highly business-facing, requiring the individual to partner with underwriting, product, compliance, operations, and executive leadership to provide practical legal and regulatory advice across a specialized insurance portfolio. Responsibilities include serving as the lead legal advisor, advising on insurance regulatory, compliance, and Department of Insurance matters, and providing strategic legal guidance on business initiatives. Applicants for the VP, Travel Insurance Counsel role at the company should have a background in travel insurance exposure through legal, claims, regulatory, or risk within the P&C insurance space. The role demands a professional who is adept at reviewing and supporting travel insurance products throughout their lifecycle and can offer business-oriented legal guidance.
