About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA only), NIH Must-Have: 1:3 ratio experience with trach and ventilator management required. Non-titrated cardiac drip management experience required. Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in a step-down unit. The nurse will manage patients with trachs and ventilator needs. Experience with non-titrated cardiac drip management is required. Telemetry experience is required for the role. The nurse will be responsible for insulin management, preferably with a 3:1 ratio. The position requires knowledge of various cardiac medications and protocols. The candidate must be familiar with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Care for patients with complex medical needs such as respiratory failure, and renal issues will be part of the responsibilities. The role involves managing central lines, IVs, and other invasive procedures. Isolation precautions and wound care experience are essential. Knowledge and management of feeding tubes and hemodialysis are required. The nurse will assist with rapid response teams and will float within areas of competency as needed. Weekend availability, with a minimum of 2 weekends per month, is needed. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and be proficient in using electronic medical record systems. Travel experience is preferred, but first-time travelers with relevant experience may be considered.
