Position Opening: Intervention Specialist K-12th grade Type: Full-time Faculty Application Deadline: Open until filled Start Date: August 10, 2026 Job Summary The Intervention Specialist will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents to support students in grades 4-8 with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have the resources to thrive academically and personally in a challenging and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities and Duties Provide direct instructional support to students in grades 4 through 8 who require additional academic assistance. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring accommodations are met and modifications are properly implemented. Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and create effective learning environments for all students. Collaborate with school psychologist, school counselor, and division heads to organize student support meetings and monitor the progress of students receiving services. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions and strategies as needed. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and interventions. Actively engage in professional development to enhance personal and professional growth, particularly in the areas of learning differences and educational equity. Participate in the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster an inclusive learning environment. Attend Student Support Department meetings to collaborate and ensure consistency of support measures across all divisions. Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing as an active member of a collaborative team. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions. Ability to design and implement individualized academic support plans. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Knowledge of learning differences, special education laws, and IEP plan requirements. Flexibility and creativity in adapting teaching methods and strategies. Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Credentials Required: Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. Ohio Teaching License or Certification in Special Education (grades 4‑8). Desired: Master’s degree. Special Education Early Intervention Specialist license. Orton‑Gillingham certification or Reading Specialist endorsement. Math endorsement. Experience with 4th‑8th grade students and special education support. Three years of experience serving students with learning differences, designing accommodations, training faculty, interpreting psycho‑educational testing. Three years of teaching or comparable experience in education. Faculty Requirements Must be willing and able to secure an Ohio Permanent Non‑Tax certificate or Professional Teaching license. The school will support you in obtaining this once hired, but it must be secured within the first six months of employment for compliance purposes.
