Accounts Payable Administrator - Part Time

Position Summary Onyx Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to support our accounting team and daily office operations. This position is ideal for someone beginning their accounting career or someone with prior accounts payable experience who is looking for a part-time opportunity. Training and mentoring will be provided, with opportunities to take on additional responsibilities as skills develop. Key Responsibilities Process vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and receiving documentation. Obtain invoice approvals from project managers and supervisors. Assist with weekly or biweekly payment processing. Maintain organized accounts payable records and respond to vendor inquiries. Reconcile vendor statements and assist with resolving discrepancies. Assist with 1099 reporting, month-end close, and year-end audits as needed. Follow company accounting procedures and internal controls. Order and maintain office supplies. Answer and route incoming phone calls professionally. Provide general administrative support as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or coursework in accounting or finance preferred. Prior accounts payable experience preferred, but entry-level candidates willing to learn are encouraged to apply. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic office applications. Construction industry or accounting software experience is a plus. Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently. Work Environment & Schedule Part-time, office-based position at Onyx Corporation.
