Firewall Engineer

Overview Heitmeyer Consulting is seeking a Firewall Engineering for a contract opportunity with one of our financial services clients. This is a senior-level technical role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role emphasizes deep expertise in firewall technologies, network segmentation, and Azure networking services to support enterprise-grade systems and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Apply deep expertise in firewall technologies, network segmentation, and Azure networking services to support enterprise-grade systems and regulatory compliance. Qualifications Deep experience with Palo Alto firewalls and comfortable navigating Palo Alto environments. Understand how the firewall integrates into the infrastructure and routes traffic; strong network engineering background. Some experience with Cisco is a plus. Routing and switching background; F5 load balancing is a plus. Azure experience is a plus; most work is in Azure infrastructure and Palo Alto deployments are largely in the Azure cloud, so familiarity with Azure networking language is important.
