Description: The Cath Lab is supported by six suites/labs. On average, we perform 10 to 15 cases per day. Staff are responsible for scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during procedures. Experience in the cath lab is required. The job duties also include a proficiency in using EPIC and PACS systems. Cardiologists are available for on-call support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A primary charge nurse is present from 0600 to 1530. The primary charge nurse does not routinely complete cases but is available for call. Shifts are typically 9 hours, with rotating weekends and holidays. On-call hours are expected on a weekly basis and on a rotational schedule. On average, staff may complete 8 to 9 shifts per month on call. Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes from time of page. Techs are currently not required to float to other units. Scrubs will be provided by the facility. Unit-specific orientation usually takes 3 to 5 days. A mandatory call list will be utilized when staff cannot fulfill their call shift.
