Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years (MS/Tele) License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS and BLS certifications required Ability to pass an EKG exam with prestart modules Experience in Urology and Vascular care Description: This position requires working nights, three 12-hour shifts. Floating to other units may be necessary based on staffing needs. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, subject to change. The unit specializes in a surgical specialty with a focus on vascular and urology patients. Patient diagnoses include surgical cases, overflow from general surgery, and women's specialty. Average patient length of stay is one to two days. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 for both day and night shifts. Three support staff members work under the direction of the RN. Travelers will manage 5-6 med-surgical patients who are non-monitor. Duties include dressing changes and care for patients with wound vacs and drains. Experience in Urology and Vascular care is required. Epic experience is mandatory with a minimum of one year. All staff must adhere to floating policies and competencies for other assigned units.
