Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The role is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered, utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient care needs and progress.
• Plan and implement nursing interventions in alignment with best practices.
• Evaluate and adjust care plans based on patient responses.
• Supervise nursing staff and ensure adherence to standards of care.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and documentation standards.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Candidates must be willing to work the facility's schedule, including weekends and be available for on-call duties as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working with stroke patients.
• Willingness to take Telemetry patients as needed.
• NIHSS Certification required within 48 hours if offered.
• mRs/SIREN Certification required within 48 hours if offered.
• Basic EKG Certification required with a score of 85% or higher within 48 hours if offered.
• Current Maryland RN license (verification must be less than 30 days old).
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Proof of COVID vaccination (declinations not accepted).
• 1 supervisory reference from the last 6 months and 1 from the last 12 months.
