Design Engineer (Junior-level Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline grad opportunity!!!)Overview

We are seeking a Design Engineer to support infrastructure and utility-related engineering projects. This role involves creating and reviewing designs, developing technical drawings, conducting field assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills, a technical engineering, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering designs, layouts, and technical drawings.
• Utilize AutoCAD, and other design tools to support project execution.
• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Support field activities including site visits, measurements, inspections, and project documentation.
• Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and project objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Internship experience or up to 2 years of engineering experience preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; GIS experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
• EIT certification is a plus.
• Ability to travel locally for occasional site visits.

• Hybrid work schedule with a combination of office and remote work.
• Collaborative team environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Local travel required for project and site support activities

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
