Respiratory Therapist Position in Fredericksburg, VA

We're hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Fredericksburg, VA where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role requires care across adult and neonatal populations, including involvement with NICU-level respiratory support. You will work with ventilators and noninvasive support modalities and document care in the facility electronic health record.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state license in good standing with the State License Board.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Minimum 2 years of general respiratory therapy experience.
• NICU experience required. Must demonstrate competency with CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, and assisting with intubation and mechanical ventilation.
• BLS certification required. ACLS and NRP preferred; facility may allow obtaining preferred certifications after hire.
• Experience with Hamilton ventilators (C1, MR1) and V60 preferred.
• Experience documenting in Meditech or similar electronic medical record preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hospital respiratory therapy experience in units that include adult and neonatal patients.
• Familiarity with unit scheduling practices involving 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends.
• Prior experience using CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula for neonatal patients.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 1900-0700.
• Schedule includes 12-hour shifts with rotating every other weekend.
• Required clinical focus includes adults and NICU patients.
• Documentation system: Meditech.
• Type of ventilators on unit: Hamilton C1, V60, Hamilton MR1.
• Uniform: all black scrubs.
