Galvanizing Plant Material Handler -East Baton Rouge Parish

Full-time 40-50+ hours/week

$16/hr

2 shifts available. The day shift is currently 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Night Shift is 5 pm to 3:30 am.

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently hiring for a Material Handler for a local client in East Baton Rouge. This has the potential for a long-term position with a stable galvanizing company that offers benefits after the evaluation period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs.
Rigging material and steel beams/parts.
Using hand tools.
Must follow facility safety and work procedures.
Standing and walking all day.

Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure:

Willing to train, experience not required.
Forklift experience is a plus.
Experience with hand and power tools is a plus.
MUST have steel-toed boots.
Must have safety glasses and a hard hat.
Metguards are required, but the company can provide them.

Physical Demands:

Working in hot or cold conditions
Used to working outside in ambient conditions
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly
