Conduct Psychiatric Evaluations: Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including patient interviews, mental status examinations, and diagnostic testing.2. Diagnose Mental Health Conditions: Identify and diagnose a range of psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental health conditions.3. Prescribe Medications: Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing psychotropic medications and monitoring their effectiveness and side effects.4. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.5. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, medication management, and coping strategies.6. Maintain Patient Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date medical records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medication logs.7. Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.8. Participate in Quality Improvement: Engage in quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing education with best practices in psychiatric care.9. Advocate for Patients: Advocate for the mental health needs of patients within the healthcare system and the community.PROFESSIONALISM1. Conduct oneself in a professional mannera. Other tasks as assigned by supervisorsQUALIFICATIONS:A Master's Degree (or higher) in Nursing with active Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber credential required.1. Actively enrolled in courses and working on Psychiatric Certificate as a minimum requirement2. Able to work with children and adults3. Experience in evaluating and treating adults with serious and persistent mental illness in either an outpatient or inpatient facility4. Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in the English language5. Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license with good driving record6. Must carry own auto insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 coverage7. Ability to maintain records and document case notes daily8. Ability to give and accept feedback as a part of a team9. Ability to traverse within the workspace and community frequently10. Be willing to learn and work with the treatment philosophies11.
